i7 2.0ghz Quad Core Help [Macbook Pro]

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but since it's Intel, I just guessed. If it's wrong move it to the proper place please!

So I'm most likely getting a MacBook pro as a graduation gift from my parents. If it was my choice I wouldnt get a mac but my dad works for apple so I kinda gotta stick with it haha. Anyways, here is the computer I want to get.

15-inch: 2.0 GHz
2.0GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
500GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6490M with 256MB GDDR5
Built-in battery (7 hours)2

Would that be able to run games like MW2 and Black Ops with bootcamp? And do you guys think when BF3 comes out I could run that? I don't care if it's at max settings either, I've gamed on minimum settings many times. I would get Windows 7 if that means anything.

Here is the link for the MacBook pros. http://store.apple.c...ACBOOKPRO-INDEX

I would try to get the next step up 15" Pro, but I think that might be pushing it. I'm gonna offer to help my dad as much as I can to get that one.

For gaming, unfortunately Apple computing is not the way to go. Although, they've made great strides in steam content. I would say build a custom rig, or buy a prebuilt W7.

Goodluck, and ignore all the apple flaming that will surely ensue.

Despite cost, Macbooks are incredible machines.

You'll slightly struggle, but those games will play on medium settings. The 6750m is a decent upgrade if you have the choice. I thoroughly recommend the Macbook Pro to anyone; disregard the babble from above that denounces the system simply because the price might arguably be too high.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this now, anything after this of the stupid generic apple hating nature will be considered junk posting, and action taken accordingly.

If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. This thread isn't your personal crapping ground for your deluded/insulting Apple opinions, it's a question if a GPU/Laptop will play a game.

Please, try to keep it that way.

Yes it will power black ops. It is pretty much cod4 with new skins (which is fine with me b/c I like cod4 ). Bf3 is questionable though. No laptop is good for demanding games besides the gay flashy alienware ones which are 4 inches thick.

heck yes!

And thanks Mahi!

If black ops can run on it then I'm sure modern warfare 3 will be able to since it's the same engine. It just might be at a really low setting lol.

At 1440x900, yes. If you drop to 1280x800 you can hit medium-high.
