Thanks for the pictures guys. I knew the idea but this really helped visualise the concept.
BTW Hanoverfist i think you yours case look the best and wermad you are crazy SoB thumb.gif I checked the whole theme and yours cooling are always extreme air or water. I also went through an air period due to the same reasons - cost and time and risks but as you know once you go water - there is no going back biggrin.gif some serious "fridge" is the only change possible

hi guys, been doing some measurements, after my last cake day (lan party) got a lot of stick for a big case, and having 2 computers, ive been looking and i think i can get 2 420mm rads and 2 360mm rads and 2 m/b in the case, only draw back is i would have to mount the psu's outside.

any more ideas would be nice i have done a few rough drawings, i will clean them up a little and post them, but i think the 'twist' may become the 'dual twist'

Have you thought to put two radiators next each other in parallel? Either in the drive bays, or perpendicular to the bottom? I know that the cooling capacity can be reduced but I think there should be some way (duct) to push fresh air between them, blowing it outside of them?
In this way you can fit 2 480 in the drive bay or two 420s on the bottom.
Or maybe one 1080 stuck to the side panel?

I think you might be better of with 1 thick rad (an alphacool monsta if you really want to go wild) with push pull fans on there. Sandwiching rads really isn't good at all. Martin (IIRC, could be skinnee as well) did a test on that.

Also keep in mind that you have to connect some hoses to the rads, otherwise they aren't going to do much tongue.gif . The way you are planning things, I think you're going have a bad time putting everything together ^^

1080 on the side is a solid option but 2 remarks:
1) The side panels aren't that thick on the Elysium, I wouldn't feel safe hanging a 1080 on there filled with water and a couple of fans attached...
2) You will probably have to counter balance the weight of the rad on the side, otherwise your case might tip over depending how high you attached it. You could of course mount a 1080 on each side biggrin.gif

You probably know but though I'd mention it in case you didn't: you can get stands for most 1080 rads so you can place them near your case without worrying about the weight/ balance. Couple it to the case with a few quick disconnects fittings (henceforth referred to as qdc's) and your rig suddenly because a lot more portable. Heck, you could even have qdc's coming out of the case and qdc's on the rad. That way you could change the length of the tubing (would require some bleeding again but you wouldn't have to bleed the whole rig).

Just some things to think about if you're considering a 1080.

Update on my progress: everything installed and connected. Power button doesn't seem to work though. And I'm currently thinking of a way to properly cool my VRM's on my GTX570 since I bought a universal block (In hindsight I should've bought my brothers 7970 and a fullcover but oh well) . Decided I will install a window but since I don't really have the time nor the tools available at the moment to do a proper big window I'm only going to replace the mesh with a window.
Oh, and a lot of air in my front rad. Will have to flip my case upside down to bleed it out, unfortunately, the way I designed my build isn't exactly flip - proof rolleyes.gif

had considered the 1080 remote cooling, but i was going to try and keep it in the one box, but i think 2 m/b's 4 rads, 2 psu's may get a little heavy for lan partys, may do the remote 1080!

thanks for the ideas, keep them coming
