fmsam could you check from the top how many 5.25 bays you have free?
Sorry Im not sure what you mean, I just have an empty case that my need to go back I wont know until Monday.
If you are still refering to a 480 rad install, this takes up the entire front there is no room at all for anything else.

I was thinking this also, might not be as good performance as if they were in the front but i doubt it will be something huge. can always still mount the fans at the front pull threw HDDs rad sucks in and pushes up wink.gif

Only other idea I was would be to just have the HDD hanging out a bit, external CD drive, the fan controller might be a ***** to fit but!

Well I havent looked at this option but if you could :

1, you would have interupted air supply to it.
2, no way to avoid dumping heat into the case.
3, not sure that it would look that tidy but I could be wrong !

Ive been thinking about my install when I finally get the chance to start it and I'll prolly go back to dual loop with a 360 up top for cpu and m/b blocks and leave the 480 outside for the gpus as this produces the most heat.

Given the sheer size of this beast there certainly is more options than any other case, I just need it in front of me to stare at for a while and then the ideas will come smile.gif

I was thinking if i mount 3 420mm raditors that i might use the back 120mm fan as an intake combined with the side 200mm and have all the radiators exhausting air out.Would this be a worthy idea?
my problem is i cant have any external rads, everything has to be in the case, hmmm whats the max size for a rad on the bottom if i put a psu there as well? ive got an ax1200w
post #138 of 1907
As the video shows you can add a 240 at the bottom but you would need to mod it in by cutting the front section out as it is solid under the drive bays, the easiest way is to chop in a 240 rad grill.
The down side ofc is you are then dumping heat into the case as you would be drawing fresh cool air from below.
Another option for you would be to top mount your 1200 then the 240 would fit below without modding, this is fine if you are not top mounting any rads!

So far my plan is 420mm rad up top(externally),PSU in top position.420mm rad in the front drive bays(should leave a drive bay or two free),and a 420mm in the bottom.

I plan on CF 7970's when released, each with its own 420mm rad(bottom and front bay rads)Bulldozer or Sandy Bridge E,and mobo(cooled by 420mm top rad)

The 3rd rad has to be outside really as the PSU location would require you to cut up your case.As far as i'm aware after looking at all the info i have so far the above options i have mentioned seem to be the best way to go without modding anyway. Also in theory, with the probably excessive cooling for the GPU's and CPU(and motherboard block)the heat left inside the case should be minimal,or at least i hope so,each rad will be a separate loop aswell.
