Kamon, I have just bought one of these cases and with it I also got some black sleeved extension cables for the 24-pin mobo power and the 4+4pin cpu power. It is better to be safe then sorry IMHO.

My case has not arrived yet but I am glad to be joining the club! I mostly bought this case so I would never have to worry about any future issues in regards to space, but I also bought it because it looks awesome. I am so excited. biggrin.gif

I'm on the cusp of getting paid and buying one of these beautiful cases. I've already got most of the pieces for my first ever build. Which consists of a SilverStone ST1200-G Evolution and a Rampage IV Extreme (the parts relevant to my question anyhow).

I was just wondering what sort of PSU cable extensions I might need to buy to comfortably fit and keep my case tidy. I think I'll need all three connectors to the motherboard, (24-pin, 8-pin and 4-pin, right?) as I'm overclocking my 3930K to 4.7 GHz.

So assuming my PSU is situated in the farthest away position from everything, what might I need to buy, extension-wise?

I got some bitfenix alchemy's for the 8 and 24 pin. Looking at the Silverstone it has a 75 cm 8pin and a 55 cm 8 pin. The 55 won't make it or at least barely if it does at all, I reckon (didn't measure it but this is eye-balling it considering my HX750's are 60 cm in length). All in all: you'd be good without extensions for the 24pin and the 75cm 8pin, the 55 could use 10cm at least. 15 if you want a decent margin.

Not sure how much choice you have in terms of extension length but I just buy the ones that look the best to me (which are usually Bitfenix alchemy, I kind of dig the paracord look and they don't have sleeves near the connector. Not all that pricey when compared to the horrible quality of other sleeved extensions. Overall: very clean quality cables. *Bloitz's seal of approval* teaching.gif).

PS: I don't think you "need" the extra 4-pin for 4.7 Ghz though. But don't quote me on that.

I got a Rampage III Extreme with i7 950 OCed to 4.1 and I'm only using 1 8pin and pushed it to 4.6 and no issues. Doubt he'd need it. I have a silverstone 1200W gold and the wires came short so extensions are good ideal. I got the sleeved NZXT versions and they rock.

I disagree, I have some in my closet and they're absolutely not up to par with the Bitfenix or MDPC sleeve while not being that cheap. They're not the worst but any other colour than black would look bad I reckon.
Here's a post I made once with some pictures (MDPC - Bitfenix and NZXT):
