For the window, just a jigsaw with a good BiM blade will do it in minutes, you could use allen (int. hex) bolts to fix the acryl to match the front bezel like I did, turned out nice.
PS: don't ask me about WC, since my Ely build's a totally air one. biggrin.gif

Yes, that's what I mean. I like many others lament the fact that Xigmatek didn't just extend the bottom vent all the way forward. Like others in this thread, I often wonder if they ever actually tried using the case that they designed. Oh well, it won't take long. I'll have to find some sort of dust filter to go over the hole that I cut.

My only concerns with cutting the side panel for a full window are getting a straight edge and paint. I don't want to have a shiny metal edge where I cut, but I'm not sure how to match the color and texture of the existing paint.

there are some good builds on here, its a shame the thread starter is no longer active as a build log on the 1st page would be good for new comers, keep us up to date. and welcome thumb.gif

Well, I picked up an XSPC EX480 yesterday. I'm going to head to tap plastics next week to look for some acrylic for my side panel. I would mod my case for the 480 this weekend but I'm at Intel LanFest NW through Sunday.

Well, fellas, I decided to use the red carbon to do the side of the bezel instead of the black... Also went with UV red acrylic for the previous mm fan grill area of the side panel as the tabs started breaking off after I had modded the grill..lol Got my front panel knot of wires sleeved too except for the usb which will be hidden anyway.

I CANNOT believe also that the Phobya rad grill, which was supposed to be for a dual mm rad, ended up looking like this--for bucks no less-

Hey japanesegorilla, can't wait to see what your project parts from plastics end up looking like... Haven't got anyone worth a dang here to do stuff like that. Gotta do it yourself or send it out.

So I'm rethinking my plans. I still plan to get some acrylic today to do a full side window, but now I'm thinking that I want to install the 480 rad in the front instead of cutting out an extra 120mm on the bottom. How have people mounted their radiators in the front of the Elysium? I remember people talking about Xigmatek releasing a bracket for that purpose but I haven't been able to find anything. Do I just need to make my own?

I bought a bunch of acrylic today. Unfortunately I didn't plan my list very well and bought some pieces that I didn't need. Oh well, I'll find a use for them. Anyway, all that I have time to do so far is to put a piece of black acrylic over the side of the drive bays. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it there or if I'm going to build and install an illuminated panel there. The black has a nice clean look to it.

I bought a 21"x20" clear acrylic panel to use as a side panel window. I haven't cut my side panel yet. I might do that tomorrow. I might also start to work on an illuminated panel to cover my power supply and the hard drives that I will eventually have at the bottom of the case.

Here are a couple quick shots of the black acrylic cover.

I have

I have these:

Or

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9611/ex-pmp-166/UNDesigns_525_Bay_Rad_Bracket_Set_-_Black_Powder_Coat_UNRBR1-BLK.html

They really cost a lot for what they are so if you have the tools and time to make something yourself it's probably a lot cheaper.
