Not sure if this is how I want to leave my hard drive cage, but by cutting pieces outta the old side panel grille, some little rubber trim, and a piece of UV panel under the top grill, hopefully it will look nice and clean, not rigged....
Well, If I do leave the front grill piece covering the spectre, it should look clean if I mount it w/o using screw holes...??

Haven't secured the spectre yet, gotta install the ssd's and hard drives...

The slightly smaller piece of UV panel is secured under the top grill so as to just light up a TAD with the little dual 5mm UV LED's inside the cage...

Well, I had another go at an illuminated panel today. The previous one didn't work out so well because of some problems with bonding the acrylic sheets. Today's result is still not perfect. First, I should have used 1/4" clear acrylic instead of 1/8". Second, despite my best efforts I still ended up with some air bubbles between the sheets. Oh well, they aren't really noticeable. I still need to make a frame for the top of the panel. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with it. It uses RGB LEDs and an IR controller so I can use a remote to change the colors and brightness. Sorry about the crappy picture. I only had my phone and it's tough to take a photo of a super bright object. It looks better in person. It actually looks a lot less washed out than that. Oh well. I tried to record a video of it cycling through colors but the video didn't show the different colors very well. I still need to wire a molex connector to power it (right now it's being powered by a 12V ac adapter).

All in all I think it hides my power supply and bottom mounted hard drives pretty nicely.

Tomorrow I'm going to cut some cable management holes in the back and then I should be about done until my reservoir arrives from China. Thank god I'm almost done. I'm tired of the smell of cut acrylic, solder, glue, dremel cutting wheels, etc.

Maybe, but not any time soon. School is getting intense and spring break is almost over. I'm also not sure what else I would do. I have a tub res coming. Whenever that arrives I'll replace my XSPC X2O 750 with the new res and a DDC-1T with an XSPC acrylic top and I'll add my EX480 rad to the loop.

I did cut a small cable management hole in the back where it will never be seen. I wouldn't mind finding some better filter material to keep dust out of the case, but other than that I can't think of anything else to do.

Quick cell phone pic:

Another quick shot of the case with everything up and running again.

I still need to do some cable management (if you look closely you can see some stray wires behind the MB tray. And of course I'm still waiting on that res from China (it's been almost 3 weeks since I ordered it). If I don't get it in the next 20 days I can still get my money back supposedly.

In regards to some loose ends:
1. The acrylic HDD mounting system that I made seems to work. I haven't had any problems with vibration. Hopefully they don't get too warm. Eventually I'll have a fan from the quad radiator blowing directly onto them. I could also mount an 80mm fan to the front of them. We'll see.
2. I cut the unused portions of the corner bracers off. I thought about painting them but it shouldn't be necessary as no one will see them.
3. I wired the illuminated panel to be powered by the 12V pin from Molex.
4. I still need to re-install my cold cathodes.

So yeah, that's basically everything for now.
