I'm planning to basically redo my whole loop. I have got my hands on an EK D5 X-Res and the 250 tube. I'm gunna do my best to clean the case of any cables, and any that are showing will be sleeved.

To do this, ideally I need to hide my SSD and HDD. Does the Elysium have any mounting points for these on the backside of the motherboard tray? Or are there other ways of achieving this?

I'm also going to turn my HX850 upside down so the fan draws from the flaw (so I can hide almost all of the 24 pin, 8 pin and PCI-e cables). Would the removable mesh provide too much resistance for the PSU? (I have replaced the PSU fan with a Noiseblocker)

Also if I can move the SSD and HDD, I would like to remove the cages as well. But that means I would be able to mount the intake fans. Are there ways to do this?

with DIY you can do almost everything you want biggrin.gif there's a 1" space behind mobo tray (was designed to house a standard 92x92x25 fan) so you can place 2.5"/3.5" normal HDDs bolting them directly to the tray, making additional holes, you should be able to house at least 8x3.5", maybe 12 if you do it right with the mobo holes. IMHO I suggest not to cut the front 5.25" cage since then it would become more flexible and you'd remove one fixing side of the mobo tray. If with "cage" you intended removing the 4-in-3 3.5" modules, then of course you can mount the fans to the main cage using some bolts and homemade brackets wink.gif

My savant friends, it appears that when I put 4x7970s on XpowerII mobo in Elysium there's simply not enough space between the PSU and the 4th card to run my water loop without obstructions ( I've tried my 90 degrees rotaries - not enough space). Can i connect my waterloop in such a manner that inlet and outlet for water will be the two top ports on the first GPU ? I'm running my GPUs in parallel.

Thanks for your replies.

It seems so..... It is completely possible using loads of crystal link, or whatever takes your fancy!!

There are a few examples of this:

Though this could have just been for show. I would imagine that if the inlet and outlet were at the top, then the rate of flow would get less towards the bottom card, obviously to the detriment of performance.

I'm assuming you have a 360 or 420 in the roof. Depending on the rad thickness and your fan config (push-pull, push or pull) it might work out less than the height of your PSU. For instance a 45mm rad and fans in pull would be about 70, about 16mm less than a PSU. You could think about moving the PSU to the roof, and the rad to the floor if this is the case.

You could even think about a setup like below (again courtesy of this forum thread):

It would greatly improve flow rate/pressure compared to the previous. Add a few right angle fittings and it could look decent.

The cards have a temp difference of maybe to 4 degrees with this setup as opposed to a serial setup where the bottom card was about 5 to 8 degrees difference. There is no performance loss at all with this setup.

That is my machine with the blue res.

I was just applying logic. That is really interesting to learn.

Do you think the results would be the same for a 3 or 4 card setup?
