So I was trying to do a few changes in my system yesterday and came to the conclusion that there really is no way to install a 140mm fan at the front!

Man, this is disappointing! frown.gif

Considering that this is one of the largest cases out there, I was expecting to be able to mount 140mm fans AT THE VERY LEAST!

And how am I supposed to mount my SSD??? No, my SSD did not came with an included adapter!

This case is close to perfection, but I would like to see Xigmatek address the following points in a future revision:
  • support for fans of at least 140mm in every location
  • at least one 2.5" removable adapter in each HDD cage to allow easy SSD installation
  • a FULL plexiglas window - what is the point of making a window if you're going to cover most of it with a fan mesh???

A) What kind of SSD doesn't come with a mount?
B) You can buy them if you want, but cooling for them is irrelevant for SSDs, so....
C) I can't post pictures because I won't see my case until Friday, but I hung mine on the 5.25" bays with zipties on the motherboard tray side, in the small gap between the non-window side panel and the bays themselves. Works perfectly, and I don't have the cables visible at all.

Also the kind of SSDs that I bought. Really, how can one not be mad for paying top dollar for a case and an SSD and not having a way of easily and securely installing things?

It's not about cooling. That is not the point. The HDD cages are where drives sit, so I was expecting to install my SSD there. Sure, come cases come with 5.25" to 2.5" mounts, but the Elysium as we all know has nothing of the sorts.

top dollar? way i see xigmatek is offering one of the best cases for water cooling at an cheap price really cheap.... anyways why not just invest 6-7$ for a bracket ? or mount it with a bit of creativity smile.gif

Ok, it's not top dollar - it's top euro, because I live in Europe.
Anyway, you say it's "cheap" because it costs less when compared to other high-end cases, but it's still a lot of money to pay for a case.
I can obtain ugly, old cases for free at any time and build PCs with those. Is there a problem with that? No. The PCs will be fully functional and just as powerful.
So I'm paying top dollar euro just for bragging rights. Just to have a large case filled with countless LED fans, CCFLs and other crap. It's cool and friends enjoy the pics I post around the Internet, but in all honesty one cannot say that investing in a high end case is worth it, or even necessary.

Too cheap to invest 6-7$ in a bracket? That's what you think? After spending so much on a brand new system, why would I cheapen out on a measly bracket? The point is one would expect to find such a bracket either included in the packaging of the drive you're buying, or already mounted to the case. It's inexcusable when you're in the high end segment.

It is also worth noting that it is frustrating to have to order a product that doesn't cost much and then pay MORE for shipping. Because accessories like this are not something I can find in local stores.

Finally, yes, I have come up with alternative ways of mounting SSDs. In fact, my home server has had one attached to the side of a 5.25" bay with 2 screws for months.

I hope I've made myself clear on this point that I have been trying to raise.

Looks like it comes down to:
1) Buy the bracket
2) Let the SSD sit in the bottom of one of the cages (something I did for a while)
3) Get creative with the zip ties and put it somewhere else.

giecsar, I have 2 of my C300s mounted behind the M/B tray, loads of room there, and the other one sits with the mechanical drives stuck to the under side of one of the rails.
Double sided foam tape is a wonderfull thing :-)

LOL.
Thanks for the continuous suggestions, as I've said before I have already figured out alternative ways of mounting stuff.

Also, I came up with a way of installing a 140mm fan at the front. Apparently there is just enough space, it's just that you only have holes for mounting 120mm fans on the cages.
Anyway I mounted a blue Enermax Apollish in there (the model with 15 bright LEDs) and it looks FANTASTIC through the mesh biggrin.gif:D
