PSU
24 pin extension
8pin extension

I'm guessing I will need a PSU cable extension and perhaps longer SATA cable for DVD drive if I put it in top bay....also have a Lamptron to put underneath it ?

I would really appreciate the help if somebody with the case could tell me. I've read this entire thread and it's difficult to definitively know based on the user manuals of chassis and PSU cable length.
I don't have the Seasonic PSU, but I think the only extensions you will need are for the CPU 8pin connector and SATA power if you mount the ODD in the top drive.

Personally, I plan to get extensions for all of my cables in the future (or have them custom done by an OCN member). I have the Corsair AX850 and all of the cables reach, though some are close. The 8 pin motherboard connector is certainly the longest and most difficult reach (and the 4 pin if you really need it). All the others should reach perfectly fine and without issue. Your optical drive MIGHT need an extension depending on what bay it's in. Mine doesn't. But every PSU doesn't have the same length cables, so really you need someone with the same case and PSU (and even motherboard). There's a lot of nonstandards you're dealing with here.

take an amd 8 core vs a quad core 8 thread intel cpu and amd should prevail in taht one. and you can take a opteron 12 core vs a six core intel 12 thread cpu and amd should prevail but they would have to be clocked at the same exact speed.

Have you read even one Bulldozer thread?

And that's at a higher clock rate than the 2600K

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4955/t...x8150-tested/7

This is just a random Opteron vs Xeon test though the clocks aren't square (2.2 vs 2.66).

I'm not a fanboy for either side, been AMD for my past two rigs. But they just don't have it together.

Just got my new case today, just wondering what the hell to I do with the blue USB3.0 cables that come form the front? Their not the same as the USB2.0 output which slot into the motherboard. Do I just connect them to the back connector's like so? (not my pic below):

How have you guy's done it? Any idea's?

Thanks.

That had me scratching my head for a minute, too. Seems very out of place for what should be considered an enthusiast level case to force you to dirty up the look running cables out of the back like that.

I just zip-tied mine behind the mobo tray, I wouldn't use them anyway. Maybe there's an adapter to utilize the mobo usb hub? idk but GL figuring out a better way.

Edit - Found one. http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0371734

Thanks to both for replying to my questions especially Darthjoe.

From what I understand Seasonic makes the Corsair AX 850 series so we should have very similar cable lengths. Seasonic is 600mm. It's the dimensions of the case according to the Xigmatek manual that had me thinking I'll be short with the 8pin to top left corner, motherboard will be the Asus P8P67 Pro rev 3.1

My conclusion is I should simply wait and if things are short I'll order then and put up with the build delay. I'll post results here to help others in the same predicament....stopping half way through a build because my 8 pin doesn't reach is going to be a real PITA.

Munaim1,

My research indicated the following

- you can either use the pass through method such as you're doing although you effectively lose 2 USB 3.0 ports and it looks untidy.

- You can buy an adapter that essentially has the same connections except you have a motherboard USB 3.0 header on the other side....blue piece in this link

http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/...cm::17694.html

- you can buy a new cable entirely that already contains the motherboard header and you remove the Xigmatek one entirely. I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong folks) this is that cable

http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/...el::17574.html

I'm hoping to go with the last option as it will look more tidy.

well looks like the new 8 core amd is terrible. i wonder what is in amds mind. i wonder what is making the 8 core so low in score. i would like to see how well the cpu overclock's on watercooling.

i forgot that the crosshair formula motherboard holds down the performance but here is another test but with better results

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpu...-8150-review/6

but what i like about it is that you can overclock the cpu to 5ghz with only 1.475 to 1.5v

to munaim1 i did the same way as you but put it into my usb 3.0 port almost all my cables are to short so i have to route them to the close whole or make it look ugly and have them out front

This discussion is about the Xigmatek Elysium, it's a club actually, so please try to stay on topic. Not to mention there are countless other threads about Bulldozer, rants, etc.
