Chris, I got this idea of putting my xspc res inside my case instead of in the drive bays,I made a picture of what it would look like.

heres a nite shot

I sold my four gtx 480s on water as I needed something a bit more tamer and money to fund my Surround budget.

After looking at my pics, I'm really not liking the charcoal gray (or black) color of the case. I'm thinking of going with satin black for a more pronounced black thought not shiny-glossy. I've used satin black on an 800D and it looked better than the factory paint smile.gif

thats 1 on the reasons i painted the inside as well, matt black makes everything standout or blend in, the case base colour is ok, but nothing comes it that colour..i should have power coated but ......im still happy.

keep the pics coming, i may have to upgrade the hardware a lot sooner then i was going too biggrin.gif

I went ahead and stripped it of all parts and I spent the good part of the day spraying it in satin black. I did the grommets, slot covers, and some brackets. I did the doors last since I'm planning to buy a large sheet of acrylic and use that to replace the stock one and the mesh. Doors came out spotty but I'm super tired since I have not slept in the last 48 hours due to messing with this build eek.gif. Time for some much deserved sleep. As always, my painting skills are mediocre so it was a so-so result. But I'm pleased its no longer the charcoal color.

New psu should be arriving at the end of the week. I'm still working it out. I got a smaller psu than the silverstone 1.5kw unit so it should be easier to stuff somewhere. I'm going to make a mockup using cardboard to simulate the psu and find the best spot for it. Right now its two options and one involves some hacking (which I want to avoid).

I removed the the acrylic window and mesh from the left panel. I'm going to stop by a local plastics company to buy a large sheet to make a hole window. I should be able to use the same holes to retain this newer acrylic sheet using some screws though. My little one knocked down the right panel so there's a slight bend to it now frown.gif. Shouldn't be too much of a downer since the case will be on its side.

Also, notice the paint is no longer the nasty charcoal gray color. It looks ok and not too glossy imho.
