if you look at the case, its a exit filter, all the (intake) fine filtering is done at the top and the front drive days, if you use the bottom as an entry (air flow) you will have to change it to a finer grade filter.

cold air = bottom
hot air = top

it's the physics

I learned a bit more about airflow since I"m switching from water to air. On water, I used to run top to bottom or vice verse or right to left. When you air cool, its a bit more involved. So, if you plan to water cool, I can tell you from over 10 water builds under my belt within the last two years, it won't make much difference where you're pulling air from. If you're going to air cool, read this link:

like wermad states, only an issue if you air cool. this case is built for water cooling. so intake top and front . air cooling a whole differant can of worms..... then physics takes over and heat will rise. bear in mind with water cooling you are in control of the physics!!

For your interest, mod the far side of the drive-bays column, the HDD fits between the 5.25" column and the back side-panel perfectly.
I will be stealthing my HDD there in the future smile.gif
