Is the 800D worth the price? - Page 2

My main concern is since it will be my first build I'll be starting with air cooling and switching to water when I feel comfortable about doing it. I've heard this case is really bad with air cooling... if I do use it with air for a little while, and I get 3 fans for the top, should I put them all on intake? I know usually the top is exhaust but this case is hurting for intake fans.
Not recommended, I would leave the top exhaust. I found a cool thread with some neat ideas for airflow setups with this case.

I personally like this setup http://steamgamersnetwork.com/images...cooling_01.jpg except I would change the rear intake fan to exhaust.

Honestly, If you have the budget to add water cooling, then get the case. Other than that, No. The 800D was designed to take watercooling the best, since it's got Boo-koo space for water tubes, pumps, etc. If you want to do Air cooling for a good price, go get a HAF 932, or a NZXT Phantom.

Personally I don't think they are worth it at all for full price. I bought a 700D for $120 after BCB and MIR. They are nice but the case is massive and the space is so poorly used. People say they are great for watercooling but you can fit one 360mm radiator and one 120mm radiator and that is all without modding. You could easily cut some space between the motherboard and power supply to make it a bit shorter because that space is completely useless. I had to remove the bottom hard drive case just to get a second 360mm radiator in the case then cut the side panel for intake. In conclusion for the price i got it: great deal, for full price: not worth it.

It's by far the best case I have owned. But like said previousl, its not the best for air (nor the worst for that matter). If you plan on water then this case is your best bet.

How many radiators did you manage to fit in there? For $280 I would expect a little more than a 360 and a 120.

Yea I added a 360mm down there but regardless at the full price of $280 you should get a much better layout.

I like this case. For a watercooling modder, it's very flexible. You can stick a 360 in the bottom with a short psu, or go really balls out and put a 480 in the bottom.
