Hey guys i just started to make my first build. never done this before.

I put installed everything and connected all connectors and the system won't power on, not even the motherboard lights.

Now i was wondering if this is because the main 24 pin connector of the PSU is missing one pin in the middle.

this is the psu

there should be a button on the mobo, so when the power is connected u can hit the bottom on the mobo and it should light up. As fas as the case power button. Those can be hard to read in the manual sometimes, mine was. It took me 2 or 3 goes at it to get it connected right. Pin missing in the middle is norm. U just didn't hook something up right.

CPU power connector plugged in? (8-pin or 4-pin left of the socket)

Power switch on the back of the PSU on?

Not trying to imply you're not smart enough to get those things but it's something related to board power. It has to be.

ORRRRRRRR you received a DOA board. But I doubt that. Gigabyte is usually pretty good with motherboard integrity.

yes the 4 pin is plugged in. Power switch is on. Even the fans on the psu didn't turn on when i powered on the rig.

The red led on the haf 912 was on tho.

it's ok btw. It's my first build so it might be something obvious & stupid.

The missing pin is normal, it used to be the -5V pin, but that is no longer required according to ATX spec. So it is omitted by design.

Unplug the psu from everything in the case apart from fans, with the psu off of the 24 mobo power connect with a bent paper clip the 24 pin green wire to any black wire on the 24 pin connector, then turn the psu on this will determine if the psu is dead or the mobo isnt signaling to the psu to switch on
