Is there a way to limit download speed from wireless devices?

Thread Starter
I have a Netgear WNR1000v3.

I may need to purchase a different router, but is there a way for me to limit the download/upload speeds by device on this router?

I have a 15 Mb/s download speed from my provider (sometimes shoots up to as much as 30 Mb/s) and I share this connection with my brother. I am hard wired into the router, and if I turn off wi-fi, I can get those 15+ Mb/s download speeds, but if I have wifi on, and I know he is downloaded a bunch of games (he works for EA, so he gets a lot of free downloads), the download speeds plummet for everyone else.

So, I'm just wondering if there is a way I can limit his download speeds with his router... and if not, is there a recommended router for this so I can throttle his speed?

You should be able to change the wifi sync speed down from 54 mbps to like 1 or 2.

Normally its the otherway around. Everyone wants to go faster you want to go slower.

Does your router have a active bandwidth limit feature? The wireless settings aren't designed to limit network throughput.
