you should be able to figure out the basics pretty quickly - theres a browser on the left side of the screen, if you want to get some sounds out open the packs tab. then look around, the dance column has some nice kicks and snares on it. drag them into the beat maker, which is the column in the middle where you can place all your samples. (sample= sound file eg. kick drum) and make a beat.
next to the tempo youl see a number which you can drag up and down labelled PAT. this is your pattern, you can change your patterns so you can make more then one beat at once, then place your pattern in the playlist which should be on the right.
so you can make one slow beat in pattern one, then heavier beat in pattern two then put them in the playlist as 1, 2, 1, 2,.. etc.
to make a lead in your song, drag a sample from the playlist, right click on it and click replace> 3xosc then you can right click the tab for this and click piano roll. then in the piano roll you can edit in "midi" notes which means the 3xosc will act as an instrument, and the midi notes will act as the computer playing the instruments how you put the notes in. you can fiddle with the dials for the 3xosc to make it sound different.
try get the hang of making a very basic track first. once you can do that, then youtube search some tutorials on the mixing bar and how to add effects etc. and listen to the kind of music you want to make, try imitate sounds you like and look for tutorials etc. once you get the basics, you will know by then what sounds you want to make so you can just look for tutorials.
heres a little clip of a song i made, (it sounds like **** because it was just a video of me mucking around with the knobs so thats why it doesnt sound like a proper song lol) its not that great but everything i have learned is off internet tutorials lol. the red column on the right is my playlist, it should give you an idea of how to put your patterns into the playlist.Edited by jacobrjett - 6/15/11 at 6:54pm
