Yeah, sccr ... I too was really looking forward to this ... hoping for an upgraded version of the first two w/better graphics, new powers and loot, and a new story along the same lines as the first two ... which I LOVED. Instead I got ... well, you can see my little mini-review of the demo on that other thread. It's Dungeon Siege in name only, and it's incredibly console-y.
But you should grab the demo from Steam and check it out (I recommend using a controller as that's what you're clearly meant to use) ... see if you don't agree w/my assessment
Your 480 will max it completely out, no problem, doubt you'll ever dip below 70fps.
I'm thinking when it drops to $20 I'll pick it up, and try to enjoy it for what it is, and try not to be too bummed that it's not what I hoped the next DS title would be.
is by far the most comprehensive and seemingly unbiased review so far ... coming from SuicideGirls dot com. I never knew they even did game reviews, but based on this one ... I hope they do a lot of 'em moving forward. He totally nails the a lot of the same thoughts I had. It's also the only article I've found so far that really brings up the matter of how fans of previous DS titles would feel about this game (not happy, at least at first), and how console-ish the game is. It does get me excited to play the whole game eventually though (once it gets cheaper).Edited by brettjv - 6/16/11 at 11:03am
