0x0124 BSOD - Asus p8z68-v pro - 1600mhz cl8 vengeance ram

Hi ive recently upgraded my computer quite a lot (sig rig) - and it was all running smooth for about a good 2 weeks. However yesterday i suddenly get a 0x0124 BSoD 2 times in a row, and once again this morning.

AFAIK 0x0124 is a memory error, so ive run memtest, and i do in fact get errors, first error already appears in less than a minute!

Am running the ram at 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 - 1.5 volt (which is what it says on the ram)

However, if i reduce the speed of the ram to 1333mhz (same timings / volt) i seem to get no errors in memtest. (only just tested slightly, but it got 30% into the test, no errors)

Now since my mobo is farily new, and the BIOS is prolly not fully mature yet, would you say that this is definately faulty RAM, or maybe just a BIOS bug that may be fixed some time in the future?

I just find it weird that ive been running the system for quite some time without errors, and now suddenly these pops up

Increase Ram voltage between 1.55 and 1.65V
post #3 of 6
0124 is not enough cpu voltage.

also 8-8-8-24 1600 1.5 volts might be for 2t only, for 1t timings, you might need 1.58-1.6, which btw is perfectly safe.

They are already running at 2t i believe.... used the X.M.P to auto detect these ram, and if i remember correct it said 8-8-8-24-2t (i am not sure though) - these rams are only rated to run at 1.5v, so imo i shouldnt need to give them more than that at their rated speed? am i wrong?

Will have to make sure theyre running at 2t once i get home

Sometimes motherboard defaults to 1t with 2 sticks regardless of what you set it at.

Check in windows with CPU-z to remove all doubt.
