from what i can tell, the pump unit on both the h80 and h100 should be exactly the same, but because of the extra size of the h100's rad, the pump will have a bit more work to do, hence i believe the h80 will have a slightly better flow rate. h80 wins
stock fans on both coolers are also the same. tie

now, combine the 3 factors together, the 2 coolers should perform more or less the same at stock, hence the similar pricing from corsair. but i'm guessing the h100 will pull away from the h80 when you install another pair of fans for push/pull, and that's the real bonus of getting the h100.

if you're not gonna push your 2600k like crazy, and don't want a cooler that's too large to make your case look cluttered, i think the h80 fits the bill just fine
Thanks again for the input guys, yeh i think im with you the h80 does seem more my style, h70 was a push on the h60 and if the h80 is a push on the h70 then hell yeh .... H80 unless the reviews are crap....

Well the H70 was up with the top air coolers though not quite as good, so I would assume that the H80 would atleast much the top air and the H100 would be the top, filling the temp gaps between air and water.

Well thats my hope corsair have worked and tested to
