Yeah new sandy bridge kinda rapes phenom ii. As you can see my computer is a phenom ii and I built a x6 phenom ii for my other friend. I am now building a 2500k for my friend now and I have been won over, easily hits 5ghz when my 550 has major issues at 3.9ghz :/

You'll believe what Intel biased anandtech says?
An AMD X4 955 BE is still better for gaming than a dual core for gaming.
Right now it's pointless to buy a dual core.
Moar cores!

Most of the games nowadays only support dual cores, not really many games support quad cores yet. You can can find out stats showing quad cores run much faster than dual games in some games, please show me.

I think Crysis yes, but most of the other games...no...

old games yeah, new releases are supporting quad more and more. most games released this year have good quad core support. with exception to console ports, there it depends if the developer has editted the code.

anyway, AMD should be decent for games so compare with that otherwise intel just has the ball at at the moment and it is up to AMD to release BD to crush this gap, but they should really and i mean really have to make a gap between sandy because Ivy is already on it's way.
