hdmi resizing resolution

Thread Starter
hey guys. im currently using hdmi to hdmi for my monitor. 1920x1080 res native and desktop res.
now, i noticed that if i restart my pc, on the screen where it prompts for your password, the screen res drops, to 1768x992 and it doesnt run in full screen - i get the black edges on screen. so how do i fix this? windows in somehow resizing my res, and i want it to stop! frown.gif

Totally disconnect the monitor from the PC , restart and then plug the monitor back in. Perhaps its not correctly reading the information from the monitor.

Reseat all connections in the back of the monitor as well.

If you have to unplug your power connection from the monitor as well.

Have you tried setting the resolution in the driver rather than desktop properties?

Generally if you set it in the nvidia control panel it will override it.

Hope that helps.

Sounds more like a scaling issue. I know I had to change mine to all the way overscaled for it to work on my card.
