Which one to buy GA-990FXA-UD3 (allready ordered) or GA-990FX-UD3
Problem is GA-990FXA-UD3 isn't avaliable (distributor had wrong info)
Wait 2-3 weeks for GA-990FXA-UD3 or GA-990FX-UD3 i can get now both for same price and i think GA-990FXA-UD3 will be expensive then GA-990FX-UD3 when FXA will arrive

personally im waiting on the FXA UD3 which should be around the 160-170 mark which is perfect to me redface.gif, the 990XA is a good motherboard and can do quite alot for it's price range and prolly the best board aswell in it's range. biggrin.gif

since you seemly already order the FXA UD3 i think that'll go well for ya. redface.gif

There is only a 990FXA-UD3.... by 990FX-UD3, are you talking about the 990XA-UD3?
All of these should be great boards. If you are not planning to run very high end cards such as 6970s or such in CFX/SLI, or any more than 2 cards, you will be fine with the lower cost 990XA-UD3, PCI-E slots at 8x-8x currently does not bottleneck anything.

OP, Gigabyte doesn't even list the GA-990FX-UD3 on their website . there are 2 listings for the same board.

GA-990FXA-D3GA-990FXA-UD3 LOL It listed those numbers on both boards

They are both different color PCB's

Too funny, they updated it as I was typing..... Numbers are correct.....

The only difference I see, is the PCB, the heatsinks on mofset and SB, Etlon/Marvel chip and that is it. They both feature 990/SB950 chipset. there is rally no difference.

List of New 900 series Gigabyte Boards I know about.

The GA-970A-UD3 is the cheapest 900 series board you can buy from Gigabyte and only does 1 16x card no SLI or Crossfire - Blue PCB, 970 chipset, 8.2 phase - not on Newegg yet...

The GA-990FXA-D3 is the cheapest 990FX chipset board Gigabyte makes can do 16x 16x SLI or Crossfire - Blue PCB, 990FX chipset, 4.1 phase not on Newegg yet...

The GA-990XA-UD3 I like this board it does 1 16x card or 8x 8x SLI or Crossfire - Blue PCB, 990X chipset, 8.2 phase $149.99 on Newegg

The GA-990FXA-UD3 is better can do 16x 16x SLI or Crossfire - Black PCB, 990FX chipset, 8.2 phase not on Newegg yet...

The GA-990FXA-UD5 can do 16x 16x or 8x 8x 8x SLI or Crossfire - Black PCB, 990FX chipset, 8.2 phase $189.99 on Newegg

The GA-990FXA-UD7 can do 16x 16x or 8x 8x 8x 8x SLI or Crossfire - Black PCB, 990FX chipset, 8.2 phase $249.99 on Newegg

All these boards will work fine with the new AMD FX series CPUs but I would not get the
GA-990FXA-D3 and a 8 core 125W TDP FX CPU and try to OC it because of the 4.1 phase with no HS

I bought the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 board off Newegg because right now I have my
1090T OCed CPU is running on a MSI-870a-G54 and after reading
http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/946407-amd-motherboard-vrm-information-list.html
and
http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/943109-why-vrms-big-issue-why-choose.html

I wanted to replace that before the board blows up frown.gif

Normally I buy all my computer parts form Microcenter but they do not have any
900 series board from anyone yet...

Can't wait for my GA-990XA-UD3 to get here UPS has the delivery scheduled for this coming Monday was hoping it would get here Friday but it looks like I am going to have to wait the weekend without it.
