Gigabyte P67A-UD7 - BIOS Problem!!

Hi,

I just update my bios to the new F4. I noticed that there are now from 1-10 LLC, before it was only 2 options.

What i noticed also that the old F2 Bios, is better for OC'ing, since i was able to OC my cpu up to 4.8 with less that 1.45vcore.

Now after updating the bios to F4, It seems that i want at less 1.53 vcore to push my cpu to 4.8 (Stable) + LLC 6. (is that oky, my cpu-z vcore is 1.116v)

Any one face such a problems with the F4 Version.??
Should i comeback to the old one F2 Version??

BTW.. My load temp under benching under 80c AND idle they are 33-40c.

Please advice.

Thank you,

your CPUz is ONLY showing the qpi.vtt voltage. Try BIOS F3h.

10 level LLC isn't that great, but then again you dont need strong llc for SB anyways, just set teh voltage higher, you want it to drop under load, try level 7 its teh least drop.

Also when i am trying the Level 7, i noticed always that my computer start restarting and downclock automatically..!!

Do you mind if i PM you my exact bios setting and take a look about them?

yea sure or just post them here. The LLC level should have nothing to do with your setup, make sure eveything under hyper threading under advanced CPU features is disabled, and disable turbo mode.

I meant the, not tech, teh= the spelled quick.

Oky, here we go... I just flash my bios to the F3 (Cant find F3h) in Gigabyte site. So after flashing the bios, my computer start the (Common) Gb Rest loop, i manger to pass it by pressing the CMOS_SW.

Any way i followed your advice about the llc 7 and make some adjustment in my bios as the below..

It seems that F3 BIOS better than the new one F4 (as your advice), i managed to get 4.8 with 1.45vcore, i was unable to get 4.8 @ 1.53 with the newest bios F4.

I still didn't push my cpu with the F3 BIOS to 5.0 or 5.2 (I will try after your advice)

Here is my setup, and thank you very much for trying helping me..

Hi,

I just installed my new OCZ Vertex 3 into my rig with the GA-P67A-UD7-B3 Mobo and now I'm having quite a few BIOS issues with drive detection. All of the controllers are set to AHCI and none are set to RAID. The Vertex 3 is not the boot drive.

I'm on the F3 Bios, and I plan to try the F4a bios tonight to see if that helps.

The symptoms are that I sometimes don't see the Vertex in Windows, and now the Drive detection during POST takes a very very long time to complete.

Did you install the latest driver from Gigabyte? Also double check that the cable is connected very well in MB and SSD.

Also in the bios try to change all IDE TO AHCI, i think they are 2 or 3..

In the Boot priority make the SSD the first one after your OS HD.

Double check that you can see the ssd inside your Bios, since if its not there, that mean your MB can detect it..

Remove any other drive except the OS and SSD and boot the win.

Last thing, if you are/ or planning to overclock your CPU, i advice you not to go to F4 bios, since it has some issue with OC'in (as per as what happen to me)

Good Luck!!
