My 955 pulls 10k ppd running -smp (check my stats the last 3 days). I am at 3.6 on air running Ubuntu 10.10. Don't feel bad everyone gets caught by automatic updates at the beginning it is part of the initiation rituial. I don't really catch the "just added the -smp to the shortcut" thing but as long as you are getting core a3 work (as opposed to Unicore work) you are OK.Unicore will also appear listed as "Falcor 78". Falcor 78 is for less that quad core folding.Mistakenly setting up you configuration and only getting UniCore work is another mistake that almost everyone has made, you are doing fine.

Yeah - I downloaded the SMP fiile and started running it right away. It was using 25% of my CPU capacity and took 24 hours to complete my first WU. I then restarted, adding -SMP to the shortcut and suddenly I'm at 100% usage and the steps are moving MUCH faster. I will say that I backed off my CPU speed to just under 4.0, just to be safe. +REP

On my 955, I get about 3 WU done a day running 24/7. You can be in the bonus by Monday! When I started last month, I had the same "projections" that you have. I thought it would take a huge amount of time to get to a million. Now it looks like I'll get there by the end of the month!

There ya go. Are you using the new v7 client? It works great for me. I'm willing to bet you'll pull pretty decent PPD on that 6850 in the new client as well.
Sell your 6850 and get yourself a 460.

Gaming wise they're equal, folding wise 460 pulls out ahead.

This Hawk Talon is $135 AR:

Plus, I see Open Box 460's weekly on NE for under $150.
