FRAPS + Pinnacle Studio 14 Issue

Thread Starter
So having a little issue. I've recorded some Just Cause 2 footage on Fraps. (Settings: half size 29 fps) when I playback the footage in WMP I get a nice crisp quality. However whenever I import the videos into Pinnacle Studio 14 (ultimate edition) for editing the video has very shoddy bad quality. I can't understand the problem, any ideas?

It's probably just preview quality, I havn't used Pinnacle Studio before but there may be an option for it somewhere, otherwise, dont worry, after you render it the quality should return to normal.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm, what settings did you render with? Are there any presets in Pinnacle Studio? Sorry, I use Premiere Pro so trying to do the best I can.

Download Sony vegas trial and then render. Might be pinnacle studio

Yeah i tried importing the very same videos in windows movie make and rendered them. I get the same poor quality. When I Pinnacle I tried rendering in both MP4 and AVI both at custom setting with resoltion set at 940x540 since that is what res the clips are recorded at, I play JC2 at 1920x1080 and record half size.

But what codecs did you use? Divx? Xvid? etc.?

Are you making sure that Pinnacle isn't also changing the framerate? I used it quite some time ago, but IIRC, there were many fps options, and it liked to default to 15pfs for some reason.

The codec will make the biggest difference in frame quality though.
