So this means I can grab dual 6970s later this year, I like to lag a gen. behind, similar performance for lower cost.

Well, since i went with the 560ti it seems as though I'll just skip a generation and SLI then get the 800 series cards when they're out!

just recieved a pair of 560 ti TF2 and I'm loving the green tide, I was about to shoot myself with 2 faulty 6950 and a backup 4870x2 that was having random heart atacks!

so yeah, going to keep this little twins until MSi releases a non-reference cooling 680 that would be prolly by jan of 2012 ... hopefully.

Think I'll get a 7 series to run with my current cards. Finally have a reason to try out Hydra

Yeah.. I think so too.

4870 = 300 USD
5870 = 380 USD
6970 = 370 USD
7970 = 3XX-4XX USD?

Hopefully that's at least 80% single gpu perf compared to a 6990

Might go NV tho.. My sammy monitor hates ATI drivers when I am not in it's native resolution.

(annoying black bars and "fuzzy" colors)

Happens both to my 4870 and 5870 but not with my uncles GTX 275

and NO.. the scaling driver option doesn't work with the games.

when people reffer to die size shrink its false ... its the size of the transistors that shrinks ... the die size would change if they wouldnt add transistors .. but they do ... why???? to get more performance ... so the die size remains the same .. and they do also have to pay the fabs .. + make a proffit to keep R&D for future gen devices and such ... so stop complaining people ... either want low power and easy to make and cheap to buy products or get high end stuff that cost to make and purchase ...

in other words .. get your priorities straight
