What 360 Radiator

Thread Starter
Hi, my current setup is failing to cool my X6 when folding on only 4 cores. . .

Basically, is this a good 360 radiator?

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/phoby...mance-radiator

It seems to bw quite a bit thicker than other radiators I have seen and also it has an excellent price point

Is there a better 360 radiator available?

All modern radiators are pretty much the same...find one with the highest fin density you can and load it up with gentletyphoon ap-15's or a fan with equally good static pressure. A radiator with high fin density would be the Hardware Labs GTX 360.

xspc RX360, I had one cooling a cpu, mb, and three gtx 470s with very good temps.
Did you mean all 6 cores? Or do you have 2 disabled?

The RX360 is a good rad. It can be used with lower static pressure fans which tend to be a lot more quite.

i have had a black ice GTX240 and that was loud with just medium fans on. i now have a rx360 and am loving how much quieter it is. i will note that the rx360 is a 8fpi rad and that phobya is 11fpi. personally i would of gotten the phobya or a thermochill pa120.3 but they were a good $30 i didn't want to spend. these rads ar the best with fans that are 1400-2000rpms, anything higher then 2000rpms gets into the black ice GTX series rads.

all in all i would say that is a good rad for medium noise.

Hi, thanks for the advice, I wil lcheck out that version 1.2, but if I cant get hold of it will the one I linked to be good enough for a X6 at full load 24/7 ? It does appear to be quite a bit thicker than other rads so it has an advantage there with surface area.

Oh and, I was just running the folding client on 4 cores, and it still overheats.

if you are just cooling the cpu a 240 would even work.

QQ, would this radiator be good enough, its slightly slimmer though?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...23&subcat=1526

My case can take a 360 radiator and I got it for that reason, I feel that it would be a shame to put anything smaller in it

EK isn't known for making good rads. The rad you choose depends onwhat speed fans you want to run. Hardware labs radiators have the best finish of any of the rads out there.

under 800 rpm = Hardware Labs Sr1 series

800-1400 rpm = XSPC RX series

1500+ rpm = Hardware Labs Black Ice GTX series (Best radiator out there for fans that speed and above hands down. Simply the best if you need to dissipate tons of heat. Practically says so on the box)
