Funny. But not really helping people to make a fair comparison between both cards. You can't expect to master the 6990 in half a day. Just like it took months for 590 owners to master the drivers/BIOS combo. Rage even said once that it took him 6 hours tweaking the 590 to do some benching.

Half a day is a short time to tame a beast like that.
Hold up. When he says the 6990 is bad, what he is saying is that the card he bought died on him.

Reading comprehension, I always got high scores with it on tests.

So you're saying its normal for one of these to just stop working while playing a game at stock settings because I didn't tame it properly? I was unaware I was actually buying a Lion with a cooling fan on it. A lion that is, in fact, quite dead now as both my main rig and my internet PC can attest to. They won't even POST with it installed. So while it apparently offends your graphics card connoisseur sensibilities, I'm going to go ahead and try to get another or my money back instead of hanging its head on my wall like a $750 trophy.

How ironic....when the 590 was released in no time at all you were calling it junk. Not a fair comparison and you concluded this without even having owned one as where Scopion has owned a 6990 and gave it try.

Also for another member to state that Ragin hand picked benchmarks where the 590 won also confirms that the 590 does in fact compete. What Scorpion concluded is something we were trying to find out but no one came to the table where he did. Proven both compete quite well with each other, niether 'king'.

Lastly, Nvidia has been addressing the issue with driver releases and not everyone is on Ragin's modded BIOS btw. They are being over clocked and are not 'blowing up' as you've also made comment on before in other posts.

Also, you claimed that the 6990 was so more superior than the 590 that bitcoiners were making it hard for many to obtain one, when in fact the 590 is going for $1000 on eBay and is also scarce currently. Also sought after just as highly.

Your trying to pinpoint Scorpion as not giving a fair comparison is false, as he did take the time and gave it a trial. Instead of keeping this expensive investement he's decided on a personal level he'd rather not and return it for refund while he can. He also stated that he was in fact looking for replacement as powerful for his tri-SLI so he could free up a slot for audio card. In no way was he biased from the start and more open minded than most.

ALL of a sudden the 6990 owners ( Official spokesman ) begin to post in this thread INSTEAD of posting results.

Pretty funny if you think about it.

Why is it that they're ALL TALK but yet fail to post any scores?

This thread was opened on June 16, 2011. That's more than 3 months ago, we finally got someone to step up, but turns out that his particular card was bad.

The question is, why in the past 3 months has no other 6990 owner posted scores to help people make a proper comparison?

From what I can tell, stock for stock at least at my res the 6990 is slightly slower. By no means "slow" but I would need more monitors to really test it... wait now theres a thought...

Anyways I just got back from Fry's, they took the return and they have another one at a store some distance from here. It should be there for me to pick up tomorrow. So I guess this weekend I get to try again.

EDIT: They got in in today, I just picked it up and installed it a little while ago. All I can say is its a big difference from the other one, I no longer get lag on my desktop and it seems to run fine. I don't have time to bench it until this weekend but I'll be back with more results.

I'd be happy too post some scores. I was originally slated to participate in this but life got busy and during summer the pull to my pc faded as usual. Now its cold and I'm back.

GREAT, and you got 2 6990's as well!

All we want is some comparison data.

Sounds good to me. I've spent plenty of time on team green as well as team red with these cards and my good ol 9700pro. I'm interested as well. No bias here, it's not like we made either card, we just spend too much money on them.

Congrats there bud on the cards! Pretty epic and epeen. Look foward to your results to compare to Ragin and the others.

We had quads and single 590 benches, either or both would be appreciated with you 6990's.
Happy benching
