To be honest, there are very few neutral benchmarks, and over time, usually, the performance on both sides increases dramatically for specific benchmarks. I just remember reading comments that the 69xx was favoring the FC2 benches, but it doesn't super matter.

Besides this should be a good encompassing data thread.

Lol Gru, who let you in here

I guess I could throw a few pre-liminary benchmarks this weekend. I mentioned it in another post, but I have to pull out the RevoDrive, which means base installing Windows 7 x64 on my Vertex.

Just time consuming is all.

@All
Do we want a CPU overclock limitation? I think everybody can do 4.2~4.4 GHz, I am just curious as to what you guys think.

I think anything within 200MHz of one another would be fine. I know for sure I cant push my i7 920 more than 4.4GHz easily. 2600k would do that eyes closed!

I think anywhere between 4000 - 4400 MHz would do just fine. Ultimately a SB at that clock speed would be faster clock for clock but have less bandwidth on the memory. Should be fairly even that way.

EDIT - Also. Two sections, two subsections.
Section 1 - Watercooled
Subsection a - 4SLi/CFX
Subsection b - Single Card

Section 2 - Aircooled
Subsection a - 4SLi/CFX
Subsection b - Single Card

I personally think 4.2ghz to be the most well rounded option both in terms of relative performance as well as being a great frequency to feed all these beastly cards. It isnt very cold here so short of going phase to reach 5ghz, I think 4.2ghz is well within the realm of possibility for most and an acceptable speed. I am also working on the benches right now as well. One issue that I have noticed is that with the AvP DX11 benchmark it commits the results to a txt file, so to accept that result would be to accept in good faith that it has not been altered.

Also, is Heaven 2.5 in or out as a benchmark?

Also what settings will be used for Metro 2033?

I was also concerned about avp results but apparently there is a crysis like tool for it.

We will have some guidelines for each bench and how to submit it.

I am glad you guys agree somewhat on the cpu speeds.

Please allow me to provide you with a couple of templates, perhaps you might incorporate them or perhaps you may not. Either way, here they are for your consideration. I'm currently using them for my 1920x1080 runs both stock (OC bios position) and OC'd.
