my xspc rx 360 leaks *updated and resolved*

Thread Starter
Had this radiator for about 2-3 weeks now. About every 4 days I would have to top off my res. I thought this was just residual air bubbles, however it persisted for another week.

I pulled the fans out and as I pulled the first fan I noticed one of the corners of the fan was wet.
Upon closer inspection I noticed a small hole in some of the welding. I did notice this small hole when I recieved the radiator, but I thought it was purely a cosmet defect. I have owned XSPC radiators in the past and some have had these defects but none leaked.

Luckily no damage was done to any hardware, however this really ruined my day frown.gif

I bought the radiator from Jab-Tech on May 28th.

What should I do guys? Go through Jab-tech or through xspc? I think im still within the return period for jabtech. Does anyone have experience with jabtech support?

I would contact jabtech first, then contact XSPC if jabtech can't do anything.

If you had to top up the rad every couple of days...id be just as concerned on where the missing water has gone to from that "hole", that is if the rad is the source of your bad day confused.gif

Im pretty sure it evaporated. It is a very very slow leak. None of my hardware was wet nor could I see any traces of water on anything.

We keep the ac running so there is no humidity in the air. So it is very likely that the leaking water just evaporated.

Here is the response I got from the pictures I sent Jab-Tech.

Andrew.

They do describe it perfectly, Thanks.

Do me a big favor and send those pics to dazhong@xspc.biz and tell him in the email that I am going to replace the rad.. But XSPC does need to see this.

Jab-Tech could not have handled this any better. I really thought this rma was going to be painful. However that is not the case. Jab-Tech support has been awesome, and I will continue to bring my business to them.

XSPC support is amazing, as far as my experience goes. I had to email dazhong too for a pump issue. He was pretty quick on replies, and when he agreed there was a problem with my X20 750 pump, he sent me a new one pronto, received it about 3 days later. You'll probably have to prove that it leaks though, which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Here is where I am at with this process. Jab-tech seems to be handeling this quite well. They even offered to pay for the shipping to send the leaking one back. But XSPC wants me to send the radiator back to them so they can test it before I get my replacement.

I dont think I can wait that long for a replacement. I may end up just buying a swifttech radiator. What really gets me mad, is I used my birthday money to buy this radiator that leaks. After I received the rx360 I sold my rx240 because I no longer needed. Now im stuck without a big enough radiator to cool my 2 gpus and cpu.

Here is a copy of the email I received from XSPC. The bottom part of the email is a response from jabtech to the photos I sent them. I simply fowarded that email to xspc to give them a copy of the email and the pictures.

Hi, Andrew

Pls mail it back to our warehouse in TX. We will check and replace if it is fault.

There was no water in the radiator when I took that picture. I had already drained it and taken it out of my pc. I will be sending you another picture attatched to this email pointing to the hole with a phillips head screw driver in which the water was leaking. In the picture you will see a white residue, that is the path the water took when it was leaking. Im guessing the residue is flux from the solder. If you still feel the need to have me ship the radiator back after seeing these pictures I would be happy to do so. I would just prefer to not have to wait for my replacement. I need to get my pc back up and running asap. So if cross shipping is possible I would appreciate it alot.

Best regards,
-Andrew

Hi,

I can not see the leaking about the radiator.

Can you send it back to our address in TX for testing?

Best Regards
Dazhong

To whom it may concern:

I bought a xspc rx 360 radiator from jab-tech which had a small leak in it. They are replacing the radiator for me, but John from Jab-Tech told me to send you guys these picstures of the leak. I guess he wants to make sure you guys see the defect. Pictures are attatched to this email.

If you pay for shipping, I'd be happy to send you my RX240 I am not currently using. You could use it in the mean time if you'd like. Let me know if that works for you. I'd be happy to send it to you before you pay for shipping so you don't worry about me not sending it. wink.gif I trust you.
