[Broadband Reports] Time Warner Cable Again Testing Metered Billing - Page 3

just petition it.

petition it to the government.

im sure the a good 80% of the population will agree with NOT capping land line internet. the other 20% are just a bunch of cry babies.

ISP companies and the government cannot ignore it.

Verzion 3mb/s for $40.99/mo (they're increasing $2 to my current billing amount) vs TWC 15mb/s for $39.95...
I always thought internet service in the new york state areas was above average

No caps with business class.

But TWBC is 3x more expensive than residential.
I have TWBC due to the need of a static ip and you would think your service and down time would be better for being a business customer but it isn't. Its just about as slow as residential here for any hardware problems on their side. You have to talk to about 20 different CSR's before getting to the business tech support. They always have horrible DNS issues in my area as well. Not to mention they haven't rolled out Docsis 3 here yet. Unfortunately, they are the only ISP in my area that meet the needs of my household and I really hope they don't impose usage charges on top of their other service issues...

I agree. We have TWCBC at work, and the service is very unreliable. Haven't had speed issues, but the modem has been de-syncing anywhere from once a week to twice a day for the past ~2 months.

Executive pay has quadrupled in the last 20 years, and everyone elses has steadily decreased.

The rich get richer. Metered internet is nothing but corporate greed. They will quote some rubbish about how it benefits everyone, but that's simply not true.

Welcome to throttling & monitoring...

Of course the ISPs aren't going to tell you this is what they are doing, but it's extremely obvious on some networks, which should give you 2 MB/s, rather you get sometimes good speed, and sometimes bad speed, connection is reset A LOT, and multiple other problems persist as well...

If it's not smooth, it's not real/normal internet....

Check this out, AT&T demands that you install their Software to use their internet, and if your OS isn't compatible, oh well, you lose....
That's not only unethical, but it's flat wrong, they obviously want to have access & control + lock, by demanding you install their software...
