Heatkiller for 6970

Thread Starter
I just ordered the heatkiller for the sapphire 6970 i ordered, then i found out that MSI has a R6970 lightning that has
Power4 Architecture
- World’s first 18 phase PWM on HD 6970.
- Independent Memory Power support.
- Copper MOS with 2x high current capacity.
- Proadlizer*4 to optimized power supply.
Top Quality Components
- Military Class II Components for longer product lifespan.
- LPL (Lightning Power Layer) for the stable power supply.

and since its a non reference card, my heatkiller wont be able to fit it
What do you think? should i stick with my sapphire 6970?

Also i hear that the 6970 are now dual GPU's, is that true? seems kinda crazy to do that

Stick with what you have my friend. They are not dual gpus. Only the 6990.

HD 6970 is single GPU. But it seems PowerColor come with an idea to create a new breed dubbed Radeon HD 6970 X2. It features Dual-Cayman GPU in board running as it should be. Not like AMD Radeon HD 6990 which is slightly underclocked.

So the Dual GPU Radeon HD 6970 you might think is PowerColor Radeon HD 6970 X2.

I'll take a watercooled reference card over a fancy cooler and custom pcb anyday.
