[LOG] Time for a 2011 revamp!

My system specs as of now

Intel E8400 Oc'ed to 3.6ghz
2x2GB ram
MSI 4870 512mb
Dell U2311H
Windows 7 32-bit
Lian Li PC-A71B casing
1 X WD5000AAKS Hard disk
1 X Seagate 500GB 7200.11 Hard disk
1 X Seagate 640GB Hard disk.

They have served me well for the past 3years and its time for a revamp. Sandybridge has got its new B3 stepping and my gfx is about 2 generations behind. The PC doesnt lag in games in Mafia 2 @ 1920X1080. However in NFS Shift 2, i realise during some corners it was stuttering noticeably.. not super laggy but enough for you to feel it.

These are the parts i'll be getting in a few days time.

Intel i5 2500K
Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3
2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws-X ram DDR3-1600( can anyone advise on this? 2x4GB or DDR3-1866 ram? Im not too sure!)
ASUS DirectCU II GTX570

I'll be reusing my hard disks/optical drives/speakers/monitors and the rest of the peripherals. In the next post i'll show you how my rig has progressed over the last 3 years.. from air to water..

Air cooled ( Back in 2009 if i remember correctly)

Ghetto WC! Eheim fishtank pump and a plastic container! First plunge into WC!(Late 2009)

Saved up some moolah and managed to setup a proper watercooling loop with a single rad and MCP655. Was disappointed by the temps though.. a single 120 rad wasnt gonna cut it so....

I got a Swiftech MCR320 rad 2nd hand for bout 50 Singapore dollars..which is around 40 USD.Threw in some Feser coolant for the bling along with a D-Tek GfX version 2 for the 4870.( Mid 2010 ).

CPU dropped from 65C @ 3.6ghz to 50C under load. GPU dropped from 85 under load to 45 during gaming! GPU also idles at 35C instead of 62C. Impressive with the MCR320!

As of now.. this is how it looks like!

Do leave your comments behind! Im open to criticism/suggestions Cheers.

Does anyone reckon an external sound card will show noticeable difference in sound quality/clarity as compared to onboard sound?
