<3 Logitech MX510 <3

Thread Starter
I've been using this mouse since 2005~ and it's one of the best mice I've ever used. The motion is smooth, consistent and doesn't feel floaty. Even when I used my girlfriend's MX518, the feel is completely different regardless of what setting I've used. Even when they're set at the exact same DPI and sensitivity~ it's like morning and afternoon~ (IE not THAT different... but different. XD)

I'd love to find this mouse again~ but it's literally impossible. I know I can't be the only person to have fallen in love with this little mouse. I should have bought like five of these when they were out. I know people who have had to replace their mice several times. My friend has gone through two Razers and two Saitek RATs. :<<br />
If anyone has one of these they want to get rid of, let me know~ I <3 this mouse so much and I know eventually it's going to die. It's pretty old~ and though it's going strong, I have to be realistic. :3 Something has to give~ but maybe it won't, maybe it's super duper awesome and will last forever. I can only hope right? :>

... but just in case, for those that have used the MX510 before, and know what I'm talking about~ if it were to die, RIGHT now, which of the mice out there would give me that smooth feel? That stop on a dime, responds when I want it to, doesn't feel floaty, doesn't try to guess my movements or go quicker than what my hand goes feel~

I have two MX510 mice that are actually MX518s internally. I did a shell swap on the two mice. I used to have a red MX518 as well but my friend has that now. Pretty good mice. I'm definitely keeping my MX510/518 hybrids till they die (which probably won't happen since my first MX518 is still being used in my office, almost 7 years since I first purchased it).

Maybe try the new Logitech G400?

Maybe someone can here give you some insight into how it feels compared to the mx518. You never know, it might feel like the mx510.

From what I recall, one of the versions had prediction, either the new or the old one. Or both.

It's not excessive, but it's certainly noticeable.

Might look into the G400 and G500 since I've never played with them~ but yeah De-zant, there is prediction in the MX518. It's ever so slight, but it's so weird that even at 800 dpi it feels totally different.

That word, prediction~ mice actually have these? It's so weird going from a 100% accurate mouse, to one that wants to move for me~ it's very odd. I overshoot targets all the time, and have to actually stop 'before' I want to just to land on intended spots. If I'm forced to use these newer mice, it'd like~ adjusting to the mouse when it should be the other way around. :3

I'll definitely give those two a go tho. <3
