Download the gparted live cd iso from this page: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php and burn it to a USB stick or CD. Then boot from it and resize the partition, and if you'd like you can create the partition scheme for your Ubuntu install.

okay cool and also how do i boot from cd. will it automatically boot from the CD or do I have to mess with it to get it to boot from CD?

make sure your boot order in bios is set to boot from cd first, then just pop the disc in and boot the computer up you may have to hit a key to boot from cd
