AMD Catalyst AGP Hotfix 11.6 "does not have a valid digital file signature"

That's what I'm getting, folks, when I download and attempt to install the latest AMD AGP Hotfix 11.6 (and yes, I've gone directly to AMD's site for it - http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...AGPHotfix.aspx - not some third party's).

AMD's updates have been nothing but a major PITA since 11.1 for my (admittedly) old setup, but this takes the cake.

I've searched Google and various forums for anyone else who may have had this experience but to no avail.

I've followed the NSIS advice (http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Why_do_I_get_NSIS_Error) for a solution but to no avail.

I've even tried to force it with a command line (per NSIS) but to no avail.

I confess cluelessness, and please do not reply with anything on the order of, "you should upgrade your card, AGP is ancient, etc.....". I must work with what I have and upgrading is not an option, and neither is death.

You should be able to install it anyway. There is not a drivers signature requirement like 64-bit OS since you are on XP 32-bit.

Does the dialog box look similar to this?

Make sure that this is not set to blocked:

By the way, you posted in the wrong sub-forum.

This is news?

I've installed countless driver packages that weren't digitally signed.

No, it distinctly said, "This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher" when I opened it from download and the certificate's properties said, "The digital signature of the object did not verify".

It was, but unblocking made no difference.

I'm sorry your having problems, but its hard for me to believe your taking a minute to make sure your installing this correctly, when you didn't even take the time to make sure your post was in the correct forum.
