Anything hard would be good. You'll get more acceleration on soft pads.

Looks like there's some cloth pads that works well with Avago ADNS-9500:
Well that's certainly different from what I've learned on this forum all this time. Hopefully someone like Skylit can explain.

yeah, I'm also eager to see some more in depth explanation

I can't say this from personal experience but many people have said the Steelseries 9HD works the best with the sensor used in the g9x, which is the same one in the Xai and that SS recommends specifically for it. I would try the 9HD if it weren't for it being too small for my sensitivity in games.

I can however say that I have used a multitude of cloth pads with the g9x and they all generate noticeable positive acceleration. The only pad for me so far which doesn't, and that I'm using right now, is the Artisan HIEN KAI.g3.

This is what i use with my g500 and i have no complaints except the edges fray if u lay your wrists in the same spot all the time

Nah, it just looks like more people who either use a high enough sensitivity or are just plain stupid. If you're worried about negative acceleration then it depends on the pad, for an example from the cloth pads that I have here it goes Goliathus speed > Talent > Qck with the Qck being the worst and the golathus speed allowing the highest speed before hitting negative acceleration. But I was still hitting negative acceleration on the Goliathus. You need a hard pad or some form of hard/soft hybrid with that sensor if you use a medium to low sensitivity.

Oh and that sensor has positive acceleration on all pads, hard or soft.

Artisan Kai.G3 Hien Hard is the only cloth pad I've used that doesn't suffer from negative acceleration with the ADNS-9500. Pos accel is still present.
