Disappointed with gtx590 - Page 2

PS: Crysis 2 isnt the best game to use as a comparison IMO..

Try Crysis Warhead, Battlefied BC2, DIRT 2 or DIRT 3, etc...

Of course, but I wouldn't upgrade just to get a few more 3DMarks or more frames past my monitor's refresh rate.

I don't think the OP knew that the 590 was not needed for 1080P res.. maybe people here can help him understand that the 580 is more than enough for that res and that maybe Crysis 2 isn't a good game to test a dual GPU on.

To the OP: try another game such as BF2, but the 590 is really too much for that res. Leave V sync on unless you do have a monitor with a refresh rate over 60hz.

well he has it now, no point in returning it, i mean its a great card! but quick question, i know that the 590 GPU's are cut down, but is it possible to Tri SLI a 590 with a 580? this was possible with the 4870 and 4870 x2, but just wondering

Ok will turn on vsync and see what happen. But its gonna be 60 fps.
It never happened with my 580 vsync off.

When did Overclock.net start worrying about what we "need"

Jeesh... Im sure we all have alot of stuff we want, but dont "need"

With Dual GPU setups sometimes games will cause "tearing" which is what those lines sound like, turning VSync on sometimes solves that problem..
As far as refresh rates are concerned, who cares. I like to see 100+ FPS too, even if my monitor refreshes at 60Hz....
But if you have to turn it off to fix that issue, its not a performance loss even thos its less FPS.

You play at 1080P and you bought a GTX 590?
What a complete waste of money. Sorry I just couldn't keep my yapper closed on this one.

As far as your issue, try other games.
You driver package might need a cold install.
Even with Nvidia drivers you should have rebooted after the 580 driver removal + a ccleaner system and registry cleaner.

personally, my monitor is a 60 Hz monitor, and i never leave V Sync on, and have never experienced screen tearing, iv done combat arms in lobby at 1000+ FPS and in game 400+ FPS, iv done BF2 (not BC2) at 300+ FPS, and never had any screen tearing,
