YUP do it, i wondered the same thing, finally bit the bullet, now the idea of going back to plain HDD is painful

if your going to get a drive SOON, and you want the latest, do not go OCZ or Corsair, there have been some reliability issues, go intel

I hear high IOPS are best for loading operating systems. In which case I'm hoping the OCZ Vertex 2 (50k iops) would be best judging by the recent problems Vertex 3 has been plagued with.

Hell yes it is absolutely worth it!!

You will have a hard time using mechanical drives for OS/apps after using a SSD for a couple of days...
