HP laptop not recognizing HDD

Thread Starter
I'm currently trying to diagnose a laptop for a co-worker. The story is that she took the laptop apart to dust it, and after putting the laptop back together, it no longer recognizes the HDD.

I've already pulled the HDD and tested it, and it works fine, but I can't seem to find anything wrong with the rest of the computer. It boots just fine from a CD, but neither the BIOS nor any LiveCD can see any attached HDD.

Tips / suggestions?

Has she knocked the connector or solder on the board?

I havent yet dived that far into disassembling the laptop as I don't have the time, though it is on the checklist.

Check all physical connections.
