Hello, im putting my new rig together now and had a quick question.

i bought an extra 200mm fan and was wondering if i should mount it on the top or on the side as an exhaust for my x-fire setup?

i would have both, the top front one as an intake or exhaust, up to you to test it, but the side one as an intake

Generally, shoot for positive air pressure (depends on airflow setup ), but AFAIK, pumping cool air in is mostly, not necessarily always, better for temps. I have one 120mm fan as exhaust and the rest of the exhaust is be done by the numerous holes at the back of my case.

EDIT:

Granted, the H60 fan is much more quiet than that on the H50. But for regular use, I doubt you'll have your fan at full speed. It you still want to, I'll have to go with Gentle Typhoons then. They just cost a lot more now since they are mostly our of stock

ok so my video cards are twin frozr's they vent the hot air in the case, thats why i though i should make the side 200mm as an exhaust to pull that air out. but if i make it an intake it will blow air at the cards and up out the top...

so, which is best?

I have a 6970 lightning lol. I guess I'll try the exhaust and see. But overall, check these out:

I would put that 200mm on top because my card/cpu/mb temps were going up with side fan on but temps are down if i put it on top.
