to change a gfx, change a psu, mobo, casing, waterblocks, tubings, hdd etc etc etc...lol...

If all the hype turns out to be true, then the 7000 series is just the thing.

If you can't wait and don't want to crossfire and stay with a single card, then a gtx 580 or hd 6970 will be it.

6xxx isnt a giant leap, its more like an optimization and bump in the tessellation department, i would say get another 5870 or 5970 and wait for 7xxx series which should be another giant leap like from 4xxx->5xxx

Also depends on what future games you intend to play. Battlefield 3 for example will probably be out before the next gen and if you want that on max settings im not sure how a 5870 will hold out.
