Power Supply Recommendation...

Thread Starter
I need your help on a power supply for my system please. I currently have:
AMD Phenom II x6 1090t
Asus Crosshair V Formula
Mushkin 8gb DDR3 1600
MSi Gtx 480 Sli
2x WD caviar black 1tb hdd's in raid 0
Corsair HX 850
CD/Dvd rw

I am adding:
SSD
AMD FX 8130 (when it comes out)

I also have a custom water cooling setup with three rads, one pump (swiftech mcp-35x), 10 yate loon high speed fans, 2 antec 80mm fans, and 2 yate loon 140mm medium speed fans.

I plan to overclock everything as high as I can safely.

Is the Corsair HX 850 gonna be enough for that, or do I need a bigger psu? If I need a bigger psu, what would u recommend? Thank you for your help!

FX chips are supposed to be pretty efficient. IMO, your good to go with the HX850. Johnny Guru gave the HX850 an outstanding rating BTW. 9.5/10

You're supply is fine. A good 750 watt would be enough.

HX 850 is good for those power hungry GTX 480s and your future setup. A quality 750W would power that too, but the 850W has headroom.

You are going to be fine. Bulldozer power consumption will be on par or lower than Phenom II and SSDs pull like negative 5 watts. Have fun with the $150 and the hassle of selling your current PSU we just saved you.

Looks fine to me. You'd only really need more if you were going to go for tri-quad sli.

It's one of AMD's new Bulldozer processors. The 8130 has 8 cores and it's announced at $290. Lord knows when they're going to come out though, they keep getting pushed back.
