On my buddy's 6950's, when he enabled Crossfire, the system BSOD'd. Had to format and reinstall everything to get it working. That's after we struggled for a bit to get the cards to post with all 3 in there.

There is no doubt in my mind that the drivers and techniques are miles ahead of what they were.

Sometimes, there are too many variables to pick what exactly is wrong.
