What is the best GPU combo I can get for $700? - Page 2

The newer series will be faster in performance but not for less, expect them to be proportionately the same.

Heck, the 400 and 5000 series cards haven't dropped that much and the newer series have been out for quite some time now.

In fact some of the older series are going for higher or haven't budged because they are drying up, harder to come by and have stopped being manufacutred. Now there is a rush for some owners to SLI or Crossfire their current older series cards before their instinct.

Edited to add to the OP: Two GTX 570's or AMD 6970 or one GTX 590 or AMD 6990. You'll be good for three to four years. Wait 5 or 6 months and get a newer series card from either camp if you can afford to wait.

The $700 budget isn't rock solid, so I would be able to go a little higher, but not much more than $750. Sound and heat aren't an issue for me at all. Any and all help would be appreciated.

PS. I'm thinking about getting two EVGA GTX 570s SC'd and SLI them at the moment.
I'm sorry, but Christmas is still 6+ months away. There's no possible way to tell what $700 will buy in 6 months time. You'll have to ask again when its a lot closer.

In the meantime, keep your eyes open here at OCN, so you can keep up on the latest and greatest.

Thread locked, since its 6 months early.
