It'd only be impressive if the game didn't run at 20 FPS when playing that level... XD

The difference between this and Frostbite is that the this translates 1:1 from matter in the structure to debris on the ground, and the physics of them falling to the ground are calculated real-time.

The major crumbling animations in Frostbite are just that.. animations. You see a flashy, prescripted crumbling bit, and then you have a bit of rubble on the ground. Shooting or walking on that rumble doesn't change it after the destruction has occurred. Shoot an already collapsed building in BC2. No further "destruction" occurs. It all just stays in place, regardless of further explosions or bullet fire.

I'm not saying Frostbite is bad because of this. It looks absolutely incredible. I'm just saying people look too deeply into these tech demos, as if they're supposed to be a fully polished game with everything being perfect. These just demo a technology currently in development. Nothing more.

you can already do this in a few games. You can demo a house on top of your target if you can't get a clear bead on him.

Yes, it looked pretty unrealistic. The explosions weren't great. the stone crumbled too easily. Blocks seemed like Styrofoam when blasted. no dust. bad direction, etc.
Nothing is ever perfect. But, i definitely have to admit that the cloth tearing was pretty good.

It wasnt great, but i can see it as a starting point. Not just for PhysX.

That looks terrible. No offence to the developers etc. But its a half ass attempt in my eyes. The rubble looks like large chunk of foam falling from the sky.. or cheese.. Either way i wasnt impressed
