[Resolved] HAF X, RX360, Push/pull fans--clearance issues? - Page 3

post #21 of 36
I hope you guys don't mind me sharing this idea;

Size of the screws I used;

#6-32 x2"

Got them from the nearest home depot. 5 set / pack with washers.

Bought 4 packs since I need two washers per screw.

Honestly it's not that easy to mount it, not to mention I did this when the loop was already finished. It took me good 2 hours to finally secure the rad tight but it was worth it.

Original setup? RX360 mounted inside the case with push/pull fans - fit nicely, too. I'm just not happy with the space and I had to redid my loop anyway, replaced my two 470s with two 6970s.

Actually I am only worried about the fans on the inside of the case. Since three of the fans will be on the inside, and the other three do not matter since they are outside (on top of) the case.

So...are you sure? Because I'm trusting you on this since you have a GB board, HAF X, and RX360 as well.
Trust me, it will work, the UD7 has one of the highest heatsinks on the board itself

sorry for the reflection on the side panel

I have a Gigabyte X58 board. The mosfet heatsinks on mine are a lot higher than the P67 boards.

Actually, could you do a quick measurement of how high your mosfet heatsink is?

This may seem a simple idea, but why not get a piece of carboard cut to width line it up with top screw holes see if it catches anything,

Nice build! Only other HAF X I've seen with the res in that position . Only thing is how do you manage to fill your loop and get water to the pump without it running dry? The res to pump connection is at the top instead of the usual bottom...

Well I would do it by leaving the res free untill loop is full then screw it in place

Wait I'm kind of more confused it looks like your inlet and outlet on your pump should be going the other way? . The top of the pump should be the outlet and the hole on the flat square side should be the inlet that the res should be feeding to...
