So the crossfire 6950 gave me almost no performance increase in Crysis... - Page 8

Sorry, did you say you were running 3 cards, or you swapped the XFX out for the 2 MSI ones?

Sorry, I have an XFX 6950 2GB that I just put back in after taking out the 2x MSI Frozrs.

Is it safe to just pump the power settings to max in CCC for the dual cards? I always left it @ 0.

Also, I just did some auto OC in my BIOS. I have RealTemp running along with CPU-Z. And Prime 95 is rocking with the max heat setting.

My load is 100%, Core speed is 4326 MHZ (it changes when load changes?)

My temps haven't gotten above 59, 68, 64, and 64 after about 5 minutes. Whats next? Can I manually adjust the fan speed on the thermaltake frio?

When I go into my BIOS it says my CPU speed is 3425?

Yes its safe. It doesn't add voltage it just lets the cards run full out biggrin.gif

Ok thanks! Maybe that was the issue...or part of it...

Currently Im @ 4200 MHZ in Prime95 for 25 minutes.

Highest temps were

65, 74, 71, 71

Are those temps too high? I tried to adjust CPU voltage but didnt see the settings in my BIOS

Thats hot for 4.2. What vcore is it running at? You really need to look up on how to overclock on your motherboard. I don't have 1155 so I can't help, But this might help [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vBN-cBPs98&feature=player_embedded[/ame] I think there using your motherboard but with a 2600K.

Those seem high for 4.2 priming. I have a 4.2 OC profile that primes in the mid 60c's. Did you leave your vcore on auto? If so, it's probably way higher than you need.

Thats funny, Because ive never had problems with AMD drivers. Ive had a 4870 then my 5770 Tri-Fire, And now my 6990+6970 Tri-Fire. What are your problems?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet... In Crossfire or SLI, your minimum FPS will always be similar to a single card. That's why a single strong card is often recommended over two weaker ones.

I do find it odd that your average barely went up though... I was averaging around 50 FPS with my 470 at 1680x1050.

Yeah I tried upping the power control to 20% in CCC with the XFX, and the overclocked 4.2 GHZ i5. It didn't seem to change much.

I did notice when I alt tabbed out, my CPU was running @ full. Is there an easier way to tell CPU usage?

I just reinstalled the two MSI cards. Im about to try the same thing as I did above.
