2560x1440 monitor for about 500 bucks!!!

I came across this new monitor recently and was very excited at first but my too good to be true instincts kicked in and thought it was probably a really crappy monitor but after reading tft's review on it I was very suprised. They said lots of great things about it. It had some draw backs like only dvi and no osd. Those were huge drawbacks if you are a professional that requires perfect color accuracy and different inputs. but luckily that is not me I mainly game and this looks perfect for it. It has a decent imput lag of 8.8 and the color accuracy out of the box was delta E average of 2.5!!! Thats pretty crazy I never saw a monitor with that good of color accuracy out of the box and another reason to love it. Most gamers wont calibrate it so this works great and its 2560x1440.
Does anyone have any experience with these or does anyone have any opinions of it. If so I would like to hear it.

This is the wc model im talking about not the wa. the wa is better in terms of color but has a terrible 30ms input lag.

Why even bother with 16:9 monitors? Go 2560x1600 16:10.

I found a Dell U3011 on craigslist for $650 6 months old. The guy was moving back to Europe and sold it for cheap.

Well ya in a special circumstance like that by all means take advantage of it but for a gamer with a budget this is looking like a great monitor since we dont usually need portrait mode or other fancy features of ips monitors besides the picture quality and color accuracy. so for 500 bucks I think this is a steal. and 27 in 2560x1440 has much smaller pixels that a 30in.

Yeah, the pixel density is nice on a 27" at that res. I'm looking to buy a monitor with that res myself, but I dont have a real need and cant bring myself to justify paying such a premium for the Dell U2711.

I had the chance to pick up a Dell 3008 30" for $450, but missed the email from the seller It's always something.

I hope it turns out to be awesome. Would bring the prices down on these high rez monsters and make them more mainstream.

Wow, that looks really good on paper. The input lag is particularly impressive for a big IPS panel.

Aside from a few extras and the extended gamut on the U2711 there's not much missing here. TFT even claims they saw no banding on either screen after calibration, which is kinda surprising for the C model since it has the standard 16.7m color depth.

IDK anything about Harzo as a vendor or how good they are with their warranties, but this looks like a really nice screen. A solid competitor for the Apple displays at any rate.

I'm with Draygonn, hopefully it will bring down the prices on these monster screens

I'd personally wait for LED IPS monitors.

Why LED? The expense of an LED panel over a standard panel will more than outweigh the extra power consumption, and you will have probably a lesser quality image.
