Everything fit into place? Feel free to change something or let me know if I can get a better part for cheaper. Building it for a cousin as his first gaming build. He wants a gaming desktop even though all he does is play RuneScape, which I am pretty sure runs on laptop integrated graphics.

Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 - $160

Motherboard: ASRock Socket AM3 Motherboard - $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157176

Power Supply: Antec 550W PSU - $65 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371016

everything looks fine, would be overkill for runescape obviously what kind of budget did he give you? what else would he be using it for? Guessing he doesn't need mouse/kb/speakers/monitor, they are easy to forget just incase

I'd pay a bit extra and get an AM3+ board personally, then you'll be able to upgrade to bulldozer really easily.

955 and 965 cpus are pretty dam good and future proof i think by the time he would hit the bottleneck on that cpu they would be a gen or two after bulldozer.

Gave me a $700 budget. He already has a mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitor, mousepad, etc.

Seriously, he doesn't do anything but play RuneScape. I just tested RuneScape on my mom's laptop (sandy bridge HP laptop with integrated graphics) and it ran well with medium settings but at high settings I started to see a lot of lag. Same results when I tested with my MCP 13 Inch C2D model.

Ehh, not really. I have a 965 BE and if I CF my 6870 there will be a bottleneck for sure. He won't be upgrading for 5+ years though. Up to now he was using a Compaq desktop from 2002... That thing had a single core 1.7GHz CPU. I'm glad its in the trash now (it actually used to be ours).

EDIT: noticed 6870 not 6850 tho the difference shouldn't affect it too much fixed

Definetly go with a 1tb drive. I had bought my 1tb drive thinking I wouldnt even use half of it, however with the rate I download stuff I will need a new hardrive in around 4 months.
Well actually then it will be time to see if I can steal the hardrive from my dads hitachi external 1tb drive.
