Its a lot like an action game, doesn't have combos like devil may cry, but there is alot of blocking, dodging, and strategy otherwise you will die quickly.

Think Assassin's Creed, but faster paced, and much more difficult.

It's more of an action RPG than anything. I was definitely on the fence about it too since I hate games like Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV. I don't like doing quests. I'm a guy who likes a main storyline that's pretty linear to follow. That's just my preference.

That's pretty much what TW2 is. Nice action, great storyline. It was worth it, if you ask me.

Well, it brought my system down to its knees, even on the lowest settings it was getting like 30fps. Is that fixed?

a) It's rough on the CPU.
b) It's rough on the GPU.

First step should be to upgrade that 460, it's not enough for this game. Even at lowest settings, The Witcher 2 taxes like crazy. I unknowingly had my game running at lowest settings to begin with, and I was only getting about 40-45 FPS (keep in mind I have a massive CPU bottleneck, but at these settings that shouldn't come in to play as much as at higher settings).

Second step would be to overclock your CPU if you have not already done so. I bet you can get a couple more FPS that way. But your main issue is going to be your GPU; it's upgrade time if you want to get a significant amount of performance out of this game.

Crap. I didn't even check out his sig rig. That system is going to have a very tough time running The Witcher 2 well. He's going to get a huge CPU bottleneck and the GPU is going to have a tough time handling it.

For reference, my Q8400 @3.32 GHz bottlenecks my GPU by a lot during this game, with usage ranging from 40-60% in most situations. :\\

I dont know why people are having performance issues. I got 50+ fps in most noncombat areas on my rig with the game maxed except ubersampling.

Because you have a quad core and a 6870. People with performance issues have 2/3 core CPUs and relatively old-gen GPUs.
